Tagging off to Meredith... a little exuberantly!

That was a dang good feeling!

This last Sunday I participated in my first ever relay/ marathon. It was hosted by Washington State University and it was a 100K (yes kids, that's 62 miles) marathon. Fortunately my team mates took pity on the novice runner and I was only given the route that was a little over a 5k.
I was very nervous, I am not a natural runner, and I have only been running since February. Compared to some of the girls I run with I am the Elephant and they are the Gazelles. About 2 miles into the run though, I discovered why people torture their bodies this way... Runners high! It felt so good! I also had some great times with my team mates, they were so supportive. I had at least one of them running with me all the way to encourage me. Wouldn't life be great if we always had a little cheerleader on our side telling us we're doing great? Then at my pass off point, I had a whole crowd cheering loud enough you would have thought I had just ran a million miles. The whole thing was amazing, I've never felt better and I have set the goal of running a half marathon in Pocatello this August. Anyone up for a jog?

I'm so so so so so happy for you! Don't you just love running! It looks like you did an awsome job! Congrats! I guess I better get my butt back outside and off this treadmill so I can keep up with you in August!
Running huh? Way to go! I started this year with a "I am going to run a half marathon" goal! I was doing good until my hernia! I too love running passed that mile 2! It has been so yucky here and I have been stuck on a treadmill. I think running a half marathon is a way to fight back the wo's of being 30 huh?!
Good job Min! Keep it up! I am doing a 3.5 miler next month. Trust me, I know what you mean when you are stuck with the elephants. I used to be so much better at running, but... age does strange things to the body!
